I was wondering exactly how that bracket attaches to the car. I cannot picture it.

i have seen brackets that drill into the bumper and i assume the alternative is the "clamp" style that mount to bumper brackets?

Tom, My 59 has the US bumpers with overriders and the small factory optioned Bosch lights. The brackets for these look very much the same as what came on 67 VW Bug backup lights. The have the "H" logo stamped in them, they use the bumper bracket to bumper bolts no drilling needed.
