Why you never throw anything away

I always love it when I keep a strange part, no matter how rough, or when I buy a part at a swap meet and everyone laughs. It's times like this when those parts come in handy. We recently got in an early T1 coupe that had been "updated" with teardrop lights. We wanted to take it back to beehives except how do you know where they go? Well, I just happen to have a piece that shows us, exactly where they are supposed to go.
Don't throw anything away, and if you need space, send it to me, I'll archive it.

Nice template! I've got one of those too, but it's a bit awkward to move around!
Here are the measurements I took from my '55 clip for those who don't have a template.

That must have been a fairly common update. Spencer thank you for posting the templates. I recently used them to restore my early 57 back to the original beehives. I am pretty sure I have more money in the fix than they had in the update.

Very common update as beehives were so dim. On my 1956 Carrera the dealer suggested to the owner he update to the tear drops to avoid being rear ended. He had that done. In 1958! It was just switched back so I guess I’ll risk being rear ended at night!

Glad the template measurements were helpful! No doubt the restoration is more tedious and time consuming than the update was. My '55 coupe was updated with teardrops and it was quite an ordeal figuring out where the original lights were placed. I didn't happen on this old 55 rear clip and take the measurements until twenty+ years after the fact. I was however very lucky that the PO of my car saved the original fixtures, lenses and bezels and I got them with the purchase.
