Couldn’t replace that Emory speedster for that amount today. Try to find that great donor we found for $70k again! It wasn’t numbers matching which is why we went in this direction. Great car.

Nice car Max. How come we never see it here in Novato at Cars and Coffee?

Thanks Dan

I keep it in Guerneville ( weekend house). Love to drive it on the back roads of Sonoma County.
Certainly done my share of Porsche mingling when I lived in Novato a lifetime ago,1966 thru 1989. No garage here in Tiburon where I hangout 99 % of the time. Love your Speedster BTW
And your enthusiasm in driving these more frequently than most.

Max- you’ve always described your love for this cab. Why are you selling? So many good roads in Sonoma to explore.

I thought the “as found” picture of the Speedster on Bring a Trailer looked familiar. The story of the find was featured in the book The Corvette in the Barn by Tom Cotter. Those that have the book know that Jeff Trask (RIP) and Pete McNulty found it. Here are some pics that Pete shared with me while hanging at Jack Staggs’ shop yesterday.

And for those thinking they’re cool, ok... but you’ll never be as cool as these guys! Look at Pete kneeling by that Speedster - that’s cool!

Failed on BAT this am. Really surprised that it was only bid to 155k , an incredible example. Has the market dropped that much ?

A cabs have yet to see their market potential. Maybe once a few of these guys try and tour in a Speedster they will see how much nicer an A cab is on the road long distance. But yes, the market is down this year, very hard to buy anything right now, everyone is holding onto to 2 year old prices. Works out good for us, we get to start picking away at the back of the yard, like that scene from Monty Pyton, "Bring out your dead!"
