Acceptable location for accessory switches
What are some typical locations on the dash of a 356C to install extra knobs used for accessories? I've seen them above and below the tach. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

I think it depends upon the accessory. For example, there is a factory location for the fog light switch.

The upper photo is an A series car, ending in 1959.
On the T-6 series, ( 1962-65), some pull switches were located on the right side of the clock , or , as in the case of the 2 liter Carrera, two small switches positioned at the lower portion of the dash, below the two seen in the lower photo, ( a B car...the C series eliminated reaching through the steering wheel by re-positioning the switches.)
Many cars were outfitted later in their lives by owners, so the additional switch locations vary.

Re: Acceptable location for accessory switches
I have a fog light switch to the right of the clock already. I had my upholstery redone and added seat warmers. Very slick and stealth installation but not quite sure where to add the switches. Stodards sells a generic push/pull switch that looks like the factory fog light switch but with a red light instead of yellow. I though these would blend in the best. I thought of under dash but they might be a pain to locate when needed.

Personally I would add an accessory panel before I would cut up my dash. Maybe something like on this SC either right or left of the steering wheel. I am pretty sure this car just sold to someone in San Diego. New owner maybe hasn't even received it yet. I took the picture when Dan Mazur owned it in Ann Arbor.

Unless you smoke, why not hang a small panel in place of the ashtray? There's already mounting holes.

You can fabricate something like this panel (not mine, was offered in ebay I think). If you do not want to cut some holes in the dash, if those accessories are not used to often, you can use the rectangular hole for the sun roof switch under the dash to the left of the steering column.

I use a sunroof switch to activate my electric fuel pump primer.

Re: Acceptable location for accessory switches
any suggestions for where i should stick my fog lamp switch?
there is currently a toggle switch that could be a suitable place to put a fog lamp switch.

From Charlie White's site...Service Bulletin 41/59, December '59, the fog light switch is mounted at the same level of the ignition switch, 1-9/16" to the left. Hole size is 5/16".

Any idea if that dimension is center to center?

Re: Acceptable location for accessory switches
My take is that the dimension is center to center. The holes would have been drilled before installing switches so center to center would have been the reference point.
