Advice in restoration of the heater hose for the warm air passage (sound absorber)

#1 Post by Maurizio Santini »

Dear Members,

I'm wondering if anyone had successfully restored the heater hose for the warm air passage (sound absorber) that I present you in its anatomy...

One of mine was damaged, but still usable after a proper restoration.

It is not too sophisticated, I think the first step is to search for the hoses, it seems are 2, one inside the other (the black and the kraft paper ones), any advice for finding a company that sell it is very welcomed.

I had read few post about this part in the Registry, and not with detailed photos. Hope it helps and wiil be inspiring. All the best.

Maurizio

I do not think it is an exact fit but it could be modified to be able to use it.

If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Thanks David for the promptly answer, this is somehow pricey. Having mine rather rust-free my plan is to get a proper kraft paper / aluminium hoses, clean the net and change the insulation with something new. Should be possible.

In case I have to order some meters of the hose, are out there people interested in it?

I didn't realize those hoses were that complex.

If you only need the outer hoses, probably you can find those in a residential air conditioning supplier store.
I checked with Aiexpress "aluminum heater fresh air hose"
And got this answer:
https://es.aliexpress.com/wholesale?cat ... h+air+hose

The problem is to find a 100mm diameter hose, most i have seen are smaller in diameter.
There is a chinese supplier for these hoses but they sell wholesale.
