Yes, that is a Porsche

#1 Post by Adam Wright »

I was dropping my car off at a friend's shop last week and got all the usual thumbs up from every Porsche that passed, all but the Cayennes and the Macan's, those guys don't even look over. I had one ask me at a rest stop one time, "Is that a Porsche?" I wanted to answer yes, but your Cayenne isn't, but I smiled and told him all about the car instead, the high road has a nicer view in life.
Finally finishing the car, new top, clean up the interior, nice to put another car to bed.

Putting it to bed Adam? I hope you are speaking metaphorically and you will drive it and not leave it for someone to kiss it and wake it years from now.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

No, I drive all my cars, a lot, what I meant was I didn't have to fiddle with it anymore. I'm slowly finishing all my cars, the Mustang is done, the 993 was done until I backed into it, but it will be done soon. Having 2-3 cars in limbo takes it's toll, both mentally and financially.

I haven't been, but only because the 914 is soooooo much more fun, that extra power really makes a difference on a short course. Also, driving a car you paid $1500 means you really can drive balls out!

Considering the fanfare that the Factory is giving to the 50th Anniversary of the 914, I'm going to go with it's a Porsche.

That is a lot of body roll for a 914. I know mine never rolled that much even going up to Mount Palomar pushing hard or playing pace car at Hallet race track in Oklahoma.

I got the "Steve McQueen" award that day for driving like a police chase.

You deserved it, that must have been a nausea inducing ride.

Maybe when you wear them out, go for the red line or blue line instead of the whitewalls! That's reason alone to lay rubber everywhere you go now.
