Vent window lubrication
After a long time, my vent windows have become somewhat hard to swing open. I know that they need oiling but I'm not sure where or if to put oil on the lower pivot. Suggestions?

Re: Vent window lubrication
Tension on the vent window is regulated by the spring on the shaft of the lower window frame. However, it's possible the rubber seal has dried out creating friction on the shaft. I'd first try lubricating the area on the rubber where the shaft penetrates it with a vinyl dressing to see if that helps. If not, then you'll need to remove the door panel to access the nut that places tension on the spring. I'd also check the upper hinge to make sure it's not binding.
