I came across a new option on a Kardex: Licht-blinker u. Wippsch.
I expand it to: Licht-blinker und Wippschalter
Does this translate to a hazard light modification with rocker switch?
I will try to get more information.

I think this is the self cancelling switch. This option came standard on cars equipped with the VDM wood wheel but could also be ordered on cars without the wood wheel

Re: Hazard light option 1959?
I believe that is the high beam 'signal flasher' stalk that was optional on late A cars. It was a high beam flasher option that added a second stalk on the steering column. it was instead of a high beam flasher (aka horn button) when a horn/ signal ring was ordered.
With a 'signal ring', the ring activated the horn, and the button switched on the high beams. If no horn ring was ordered on early A cars, the horn button ('Signalknopf' in German) activated the horn and the foot switch was the only way to activate the high beams.
With the T5 the 'high beam flasher' was integrated into the turn signal stalk.

bingo
You can see the left has the cancel tab, the right side does not have it. If I remember correctly, the one on the right only moves up for the flasher function. Very rare option.

Jules and Joris are 100% correct in their explanations.
My 1959 S/R coupe was ordered and pick up at the factory in December 1958 with the VDM Carrera wood steering wheel and has the second/double stalk. It works as designed.

My Speedster has the optional wood wheel and the headlight blinker switch which flashes the headlights when moved either up or down. It is listed as Tumbler Switch for blinker light in DerWhite's "the Book" on page 206 as Group A option 17. KTF.
