Front axle Needle roller bearing

#1 Post by Alexis Collaud »

Hi,
I need to replace the needle bearing of my Front axle on my BT6
The PET is showing the "644 41 014" qty 4. Unfortunalty they are very hard to find on the market and it seems that we can replace them : "No longer available, use the 356C type roller bearing (69534101400) and spacer sleeve (69534110800)"

My question is then can I replace them by this "69534101400" and then is the required qty 8 ?
In addition do I need the spacer sleeve qty 4 ?
last point in which order all these parts should be mounted ? (I imagine that both bearing are mounted first and then the spacer, just to be sure)

Here is comparison of C and B bearings. You need 2 C bearings to replace 1 B bearing. The lip on the B bearing I believe is to hold rubber boot.

Try Zim and Aase if you want to find B bearings.

...and the bearings can be purchased from any good bearing supply house for about $15.00 each. This is an industrial bearing produced by FAG and other high grade manufacturers, not a Porsche only part.

Thanks, good to know :)

Do I need the spacer sleeve qty 4 ? On the image it seems that the 2 bearings are longer than the original one ...

You should not need the spacer sleeves, re-use the originals.

A slight correction;

The bearings listed are for the trailing arms in the tubes; Not the early 25mm axles (using ball bearings
if not converted to tapered roller bearings) and 30mm axles.

if converted
to tapered roller bearings (on the early 25mm spindles)
