Early T 6 B easy questions 1962 and earlier
Three things happen during this time that are unrecorded:
1 Louvers appear in the center rain deflector part of the rear lid. I have it between 7/62 and 11/62.
2 Antenna holes appear in both door hinge posts (as opposed to just left on LHD cars) between 3/62 and 7/62 on Reutter cars. No data until 7/62 on Karmann coupes and all subsequent ones have them. T 6 Roadsters only left. Karmann hardtops only left? First RHD cars on the right way earlier.
3 Round impression on lower door jambs below striker plates. Not on T 6 Roadsters. Not on Karmann Hardtops? Should be in 1961 or early 1962.

I know the first T-6 cars did not have the louvers...probably several hundred produced until the louvers became standard.

62 Cab # 155643. Antenna hole only on the left. No round impressions, no louvers, Jack holding clips on the RH side of the trunk, pins that hold the fiber fuse box cover on. The jack clips have only been reported on very early T6 Cabs and very early T6 Karmann Hardtops. The pins are a very early T6 thing and came on most models, if not all. I bought this car from the original owner (actually, his son-in-law after he rolled it) in 1978.
Regards
Jim
Note to Brett: Opening the doors on my car wasn't as easy as you might have thought .

No paint but I'm pretty sure that they have been messed with.

Other thoughts on T 6 paint on striker screws -- late ones don't seem to have painted ones. All T 5s have them. No good guidelines -- no factory photos -- only unmolested cars.

Re: Early T 6 B easy questions 1962 and earlier
I have cabriolet door jamb impressions appearing between 1559643 9/61 and 157875 1/63 -- big gap!!!
I have Reutter coupe door jamb impressions appearing between 113035 9/60 and 116884 7/61 -- smaller gap!
None on Roadsters or Karmann Hardtops and on all Karmann coupes -- no gap...
I think dual aerial holes are also on all Karmann coupes, but could use some early ones to verify.
On Reutter coupes dual aerial holes still appear between 3/62 and 7/62
