All single grill coupe lids, 1956-61.

Coupe rear lids are flatter than Cabriolet (and Speedster) lids.

As an aside, when I restored my '59 Cabriolet the engine lid had some minor issues and I had a very nice engine lid from a '58/'59 Convertible D so thought I would swap it. It was very far from fitting correctly. Ended up fixing the cabriolet lid and selling the Conv. D lid. Assume it was a Drauz vs Reutter issue, but the parts book called out the same part number for both.

The 356's were mostly hand-fitted at assembly; Nothing like today's automated assemblies w/the newer cars.

I hope you won't mind my taking this thread off course, but Alan's comment leads to a question. Did Drauz stamp their own panels? I would have thought the tooling for this would be too expensive to justify the small run of cars that Drauz built and that Porsche or Reutter would have delivered stamped panels, and possibly finished doors and lids, to Drauz for assembly. A second question, when did the stamping move from Reutter to Porsche?
