356 C SC - Sunroof doubt

Hi everyone! I have a 1964 (built in 1963 by Reutter) 356 C SC sunroof, purchased in 2012.

As I've been told, one way to identify an original sunroof is by its water drain holes located behind the rear pop out window.

Does anyone knows a specific thread in this forum talking about this or has a specific way to identify original sunroofs?

Thanks for your help!

Kardex would show it if done from the factory. There has been mention of sunroofs being added by dealer to cars when new. And Jim Kellogg mentioned that when he restores a C sunroof he reroutes the rear drains so no staining of the body behind the quarter windows. And more to confuse you: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=35802&p=210881&hili ... of#p210881 and search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keyw ... f&start=15 do a search of "Golde sunroof" and get 13 pages of discussion. Including cars with sunroof added at time of pickup without the holes and even a Golde/Webasto sliding sunroof from =the factory noted on Kardex. So start with a Kardex and go from there.

With the head liner out, you can check the pluming drains, and the rubber tube clips in the engine bay. …...Jim.

Nothing in the engine bay on a T6 is there?

Doug, thanks for your input. Guess I'm going to start with the Kardex plus the 13 pages of information.

Doug: no drain hoses originally in the engine compartment of a T-6. The drains were the holes in the rear of the roof. However, I think the clipped sunroofs may route them through the engine bay rather than trying to duplicate the holes in the roof. I suppose if someone found a clip that included the factory holes, then the hoses could be routed as originally intended.

I know Mike I was referring to the post by Jim mentioning rubber tube clips in the engine bay. Luis sent me photos of his car and it sure looks like original drain holes to me. Awaiting Kardex

I heard from Luis. He obtained the Kardex and his sunroof is original.
