change from pushbutton to key start switch
I have a 1960 model year 356 T5 coupe made in November of 1959. Number 109750. Since I have owned the car it has had a 356A style ignition switch with a push button starter. Looks original. Factory parts. Wiring is tidy. The car is very original. I have always assumed someone installed that switch. But as I gather parts to replace it with the "correct" 356B ignition switch, I wonder, exactly when was the changeover? Is it possible that this is the way it came from the factory?

Re: change from pushbutton to key start switch
Sincerely doubt it. Change came with the 356A series.

Re: change from pushbutton to key start switch
A cars used keyed ignition switches, not push button, B cars would certainly never have been produced with a push button starter...sounds like a previous owner modified the system.

Thanks for the confirmation. I will get on with the refit of a correct "B" switch.
