Hi Tommy,
Speedy seems to be getting plenty of exercise by my buddy Trevor with his "car kid" Avery, so I hope he's not that mad at me for a hexing.
How's the Skeeters this year down in swampy land?

Re: Help! Transmission barking near Salzburg.
I'm a little late to the conversation but I'll add my 2 cents. I had a 356 C coupe that I used to drive locally short distances for years with no problems at all. I then took the car on a longer, faster drive on freeways and started to notice some strange noises from the rear of the car. It was particularly noticeable around tight corners. I found that when the car was parked if I pushed up and down on the rear bumper I could recreate the noise. It turned out that the axle flange where it meets the trans housing had too tight a clearance and was gouging the surface of the housing. I believe that the high speed driving built up heat and tightened an already inadequate clearance between the two surfaces. The fix was to remove the axle and swing arm and add additional gaskets after smoothing the damaged surfaces.
