Hi all-
Apologies for the simple (stupid) question, but the retaining pins I ordered, https://www.stoddard.com/catalogsearch/ ... 351-913-14, do not fit the refurbished calipers. There is a shoulder on the end of the pin the prevents it from inserting fully into the caliper. Did I order the wrong pins? Wrong calipers? What gives?
Thank you!

Re: Brake retaining pins
They look like early 911 pad retaining pins

Re: Brake retaining pins
It has always been so with 356 and 912 (solid rotor) disk brake, pad retaining pins and cross springs. The parts people (at various locations) are evidently afflicted with parts lists containing incorrect part numbers or incorrect superscession.
I resorted to making some pins out of soft stainless steel rod. They will always stay shiny.
As I recall, the rear caliper pins insert from an awkward direction.

Re: Brake retaining pins
The pad retaining pins are 1-diameter for the 356; The double diameter pins are for the front calipers on the 911/912.
