#1 Post by Garry Wolf »

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A TERRE HAUTE/INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA PORSCHE ENTHUSIAST OR SOMEONE FROM THIS AREA TO TALK TO ME ABOUT MY CAR THAT I PURCHASED(A 58 SPEEDSTER), FROM THIS AREA WITH INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY PARKING STICKERS ON IT FROM 77-78. IS THERE ANYONE ALIVE WHO CAN HELP ME WITH THE HISTORY OF MY 58 SPEEDSTER...WAS ORIGINALLY WHITE, BUT WAS PAINTED BLACK SOMEWHERE IN IT'S INDIANA HISTORY. A ROBERT F. GREEN JR. OWNED IT AT ONE TIME....NEED HELP LOOKING FOR ORIGINAL ENGINE AND HISTORY OF CAR.
I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR 5=6 YEARS FOR INFORMATION. NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS CAR...IF YOU ARE OUT THERE, PLEASE HELP ME!!!! THANKS, GARRY WOLF

Only once in the over 50+ years that I have been in business have I been able to match from inventory an engine to a car. If he was in his 30's when he purchased the car he may still be alive, and each year the old 356 guys are resting. al zim

Sorry your ears are so sensitive...didn't really even think about it, but at least I got someone to see it I guess. Very sorry, didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings.

Gary,

If you provide the VIN number you will get better/more accurate responses.

Our feelings aren't hurt. All caps is considered shouting on most forums and is not considered to be in good taste. One reason for the response is that you only waited 18 minutes after posting the first question before putting it out there again in all caps. Some of us are a little slow and maybe a little hard of hearing too, but we eventually come around. Be patient with us.

Welcome to the forum. Hope you find what you're after.

This would have been a perfect Mike Robbins question... I’m willing to help with local info, I’m from Indianapolis. Unfortunately, I’ve only been a 356 owner for 16 years (not old enough to be around for their original release). Do you have a contact for Brett Johnson?

Just curious, are you and the car still in Indiana? FWIW, Brett knows the cars, probably not your cars former owner.
The left lane is for passing, MOVE OVER!!!!
