I just hope that the news was wrong and no one was killed or injured. Let the tragedy be only the historic car damage, I see that 356 peaking out, looks like it can be saved

Horrible news. Cam showed their 1952 AR next to us in November and was his usual low key self. I hope no one was hurt; that’s more important than cars.

Agree with all above. The good news is insurance coverage, and one of the best shops in the world to bring everything back to life. ……………...Jim.

Tragic for the person that died and those injured.

And some of those cars are rather important. Like that 1959 Carerra GS speedster I see through the hole in the roof.

My wife and I are stunned. We had the chance to visit this collection with our local PCA and the Ingrams were incredible hosts. I think Bob could've talked to me about his SC GT all night. I can see their 550 Spyder in one of the shots, and I think their Abarth Carrera and 904 as well. Very sad.

Very very sad that a person was killed and more injured. Thoughts and well-wishes for all involved. :(

The good news (sort of) from this explosion and fire is that more lives were not lost. The blast was felt for 1/2 mile around the site!

That location is a dense business area: the disappeared part of that complex included a doctors office and a coffee shop, which shared the collapsed wall with the Ingram Collection. Regarding the collection, some of the cars were/are at the local Southpoint Porsche dealership on display, while others were at Roads Scholars nearby for concours prep. So all are not lost. My condolences to the Ingram family, a great bunch of people. Let's hope that the injured recover.

This area is the center of the historic district in Durham, and I don't know why they couldn't find that pipe before it was inadvertently cut. It also took a long while for the gas company to shut it off. The historic Studebaker dealership building looks to be in very bad shape. All of this happened on the 150-year anniversary of the city's birth.

I think that some agency made a mistake and did not turn the gas off fast enough. They already had personnel in the building evacuation but the gas was still flowing. Hope that they do not find anyone else in the debris. And, hopefully the collection sustained minor damage

Unfortunately from the link

"The gas explosion killed one person and injured 25. It happened when a contractor hit a gas line at 115 North Duke Street between Morgan and Main streets."
