Fuel Petcock Exploded Image

#1 Post by Ken Tuvman »

Hi Everybody,

I'm trying to locate a visual of how to re-assemble the Petcock valve for our '61 356B - I know there's a technical article in the registry DB but it doesn't show the orientation - any help here is appreciated

Thanks

Ken:

If you go to the Stoddard link on this website, dig down to 356, fuel system, petcocks and there is a diagram.

Thanks, Mike - what you're saying is starting to register - so the kit Stoddard sells is a "universal" kit and guessing there were a couple variations of the petcock valves in earlier 356 A's than the B's.

So I need to figure which diagram corresponds to our fuel petcock which I believe is the diagram showing the spring because mine definitely has a spring :)

Thanks again!

I've found the differences are the cork gaskets. Also, that gasket has to be sanded a bit thinner to enable the selector mechanism fit. That mechanism is help in place by the round spring clip shown in the top pic. There is another spring that is located inside the petcock.
