When did the engine lid hinges move outboard to the final width?

So, it varies?
Seriously, the Pre Mat Auto Prime kit does not fit the cars with the narrow hinge spacing and I want to avoid selling it to folks with those cars. I know the A open cars have the narrow spacing, but that's pretty much the limit of my knowledge. Any help appreciated.

An A coupe has a taller engine compartment in the hinge area so it might fit even though the spacing is narrow.

Good point.
I guess it'll take some discussions with the next several buyers to establish the cut-off.
