T-5 Horn Bracket

#1 Post by David Sweeney »

Mounting my T-5 Roadster Horns and noticed I'm missing the standoff T shaped brackets for mounting. I have the 3 layered sandwiched bracket that attaches directly to the back of the horn, but not the one that attaches to the car. Two questions: 1) Does the T-5 use the same "standoff bracket" as the Pre A and A (there are some for sale on ebay and at Sierra Madre/Stoddards) or a different shape, and 2) Does anyone have a set to sell??? Also, any pictures of the proper 60 Roadster T-5 mount would be much appreciated. Thanks much. Dave

For B/C cars the horns are merely bolted to the fender bracket; a bolt goes thru the hole in the horn laminated strap (which might be confused as a "bracket". -- Oh, that would be except for 2ltr Carrera where these is a clamp around the tubular fender brace -- same a early 911. The hole in the fender brace is for the bolt -- photo below.

Thanks Brad, talked to Julian Hardy and he concurred. The horn is mounted upright in the 12 o'clock position correct , nearer to the turn signal....not hanging below the bracket at 6 o'clock....correct??

If mounted correctly, the round ID plate will be readable through the upper horn grilles.
