Paul if you like I can lend you my hole saw. I used it for installing my clock so I could install a temp ga. If you want to borrow it let me know. It is the right size.

This has been quite the discussion. I'm going to cut it. Don't know how, don't know when, but I'm going to cut it.
Thomas, thank you for your generous offer of a loaner. After the dust settles and I get my Spring chores completed and get around to CUTTTTTTING IT I might give you a shout. Thanks again to all and to Jim Liberty for his sage advice.

Just another thought and the way I solved the problem---clock, oil pressure, and voltmeter, couldn't afford a radio at the time.

Bruce, my 54 dash came with a cut up center radio section that I saved the outside trim off of. Then cut a piece of scrap AL to shape, did some engine turning, cut holes for clock, oil pressure gauge, and voltmeter and installed with some homemade clamps from the back.

Hey Thomas: you're essentially "right around the corner". From that picture of you sitting at the table I thought you were in the hills of Sicily. When I get things organized around here after Spring cleanup, I'll give you a shout. You may want to hook up with our loosely organized CT shoreline group. Mostly East of New Haven but a few outliers and preponderance of 356 with an Isetta, Alfa, MG TC, Ghia, etc. thrown in. You never know what will show up for breakfast.
