I have a 64C coupe that is very nice, original condition. I'm spending the Winter cleaning and detailing the car. I'm keeping it original and only cleaning-up the original parts. This "C" has the original
Durant mirror. Though the mirror base is in great shape, the mirror glass is pretty well "shot". Any suggestions for replacing the glass, or should I leave it "as is"?
Thanks,
Pat

Re: 64C Durant mirror
There's a pretty simple 'fix' by cementing a new mirror, cut to size, over the old. There are suppliers of mirrors for most modern cars and I just fixed a BMW side mirror this way for about $25. I think these same suppliers will cut a custom size, or find a glass shop to do it.

Karman Konnection have new Durrant mirrors in stock with convex lenses that usefully broaden the field of view. I’ve just bought one for mine.

Re: 64C Durant mirror
I have a repro Durant mirror in my spares stash that will probably never get used. I've found that the repro's don't have the range of adjustment that the originals have, and I could never get the repro to adjust properly. Keep looking for a good original, or have a good glass guy replace the mirror.
