Car has two brackets on the inside wall between engine and interior.
Trying to find out what the purpose is. They are not for the luggage hold down brackets.
Car is a super90 and will be up for sale soon.

Hi John
You may be right, but why the threaded holes?

I'm thinking they are for the luggage strap loops as the screws are machine threads and the spacing between holes looks right.

The back panel doesn't need the plates. The "nails" just go through the firewall and attach inside the engine compartment.

Of course, I could be full of that which eminates from the south end of a north bound cow since the notchback does have it's peculiarities.

I Googled "1961 notchback interior" and found a pucture of the back panel with luggage strap loops.

Thanks for posting the pic, Doug. I'm computer-challenged posting pics.

I hope all is well on the Creek.

The threaded holes are for luggage strap loops. Here’s my T5 Notchback.
