I have been wondering about the parking brake "slider" which links the two shoes, and the parking brake lever connected to the rear brake shoe. ( top part in the picture ) In all the sets I have seen, this is one part used both sides. The levers themselves are sided L or R. Kind of bothers me as there is clearly a radiuses tab on one side that indexes to a brake spring, yet, am I supposed to ignore that on the other side when assembled? For most of my adult life, I have been assembling them one facing up, and one facing down.
So, for those of you in the know, I am missing something here ? Should I have mirror imaged parts? ? Or, did this change over time, with the sided part deleted to simplify parts list?
Thanks,
