At the 2018 Lit Meet you could buy a copy for [just] under $ 2,000.

First I need to sell my repro 100,000 KM badge for $2,000, then maybe.

Someone needs to find that storage unit! Steve once joked that all the money he made selling the book was paying for the storage unit full of books. I scoffed that there were that many, he called my bluff and sent me 10 cases to use as giveaways for the ECH that year.

There was a time when you could have bought 2 speedsters for the cost of the book nowadays. Why oh why did I buy coupes when I could have bought speedsters?
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

I guess I'll just have to suffer with my standard edition purchased from Steve @ the Lit. meet for $40. I would have bought a case, but my crystal ball was in the shop that week.

I paid $ 35 at a "garage sale" at the Porsche Parts Warehouse in Ontario, CA some years ago.

...and to be clear the limited edition, numbered in a slipcase, is the big dollar item.

It probably is the big dollar item, but the $ 1,999 budget edition was the standard one, just like I paid $ 35 for (which is why I remember it).
