All:

There are 30 places on the engine where the M8 x 12 nut was used on the Porsche pushrod engine as original issue. Can you name them?

I am still wondering if yours hasn't been welded. Here are 2 pictures of mine for comparison.

I hope that's not the case (bad wordplay intended). I will find out soon enough. Planning to send the case off for evaluation and machine work in the next few days. Ollie's Engineering was the recommendation I got for crank case, heads, and rockers.

I have had first hand experience with Ollie's machine work and would never ever recommend them for 356 machine work of any kind!
I would suggest doing some more research before sending your parts off to them.

Competition Engineering would be my choice and probably the choice of quite a few others on the forum.
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....
