If you use a 8MM nut with 12 mm across the flats similar to the one that holds the 3rd piece on the engine you will find it much easier to install the exhaust system, the distributor clamp and the cam plug. al zim

There are 30 places on the engine where the M8 x 12 nut was used on the Porsche pushrod engine as original issue. Can you name them?

I hope that's not the case (bad wordplay intended). I will find out soon enough. Planning to send the case off for evaluation and machine work in the next few days. Ollie's Engineering was the recommendation I got for crank case, heads, and rockers.

I have had first hand experience with Ollie's machine work and would never ever recommend them for 356 machine work of any kind!
I would suggest doing some more research before sending your parts off to them.
