Re: Another Scam Ad on the Registry?
His ad was pretty well written, listing enough defects to make it sound like a sensible guy asking a realistic price. I am gullible enough to have wondered if it could be real. I didn't try to buy it though.

Re: Another Scam Ad on the Registry?
I've read this place is a racket too. Look at this Craigslist ad and pics then their website, 356 Porsches, 911's 997, u name it 15,000 cars in stock (they say).
You have to pay $25 (I think) to see the available cars. Lots of Porsche's. Guys on Pelican were calling it a scam, but they do have cars, you just don't
know what till to register, and pay. Readytofix.com most are salvage, many say flood damage ? LA floods ? When, where ? We just got 2" of rain
big news story Where do they get all these flood damage cars in LA ? Check out the mint green 1960 356B Cabriolet flood damage ?

Re: Another Scam Ad on the Registry?
I think the ready to fix website is where you can offer on a car and they will bid for you at the big salvage auctions, like CoPart. You think you're getting the car but all you are doing is placing a bid through someone else. Most of the these cars are at CoPart, or Manhiem, you can see the cars on those sites, and trust me, there are NO deals on Co-Part or any of the big salvage auction sites. I've watched wrecked cars go within 5-10% of retail value, but many are going overseas and there are tax advantages to importing a wrecked car and fixing it in your home country. A Russian guy explained it to me one time back when I used to go to the auctions. I asked him why he can pay so much for a car. He said if he imported a BMW from Western Europe or the States he would pay 200% tax to get it in, but there was a much smaller tax for a wrecked car, he would fix it with the same Chinese metal we are using over here and there is no such thing as a salvage title in Russia, he could sell the car for big money. So blame the high prices on the Russians, I did and stopped going.Martin Bruechle wrote:I've read this place is a racket too. I can't hate on them that much though, I sold my house in Atlanta for cash to the same Russian. I mentioned I was moving to NY, and would have to put my house on the market, he said "How Much?" I told him and we close a few weeks later.Vic Skirmants wrote:Always the Russians!
I think Dimytri wanted to be my brother, because he went and tracked down the custom Passat that Matt has built, bought it and parked it out front of the house he bought from me, where Matt lived too.
