Howdy...I have new castle nuts for my 62 B rear axle but putting them on one side shows the threads are less than perfect on the axle itself. I have tried new and old nuts...and I cant get them to screw on one side without exerting a great deal of force..
What die size should I source to clean up the threads on that axle?
Rear Axle threads are boogered up.

Gregg,
The correct die would be M24X1.50 A thread repairing, or adjustable die would be best. McMaster Carr has both types.

Thanks Eric. I will try the thread file first, then if that doesn't work, source a thread repair/die.
