Need help with thieves

#1 Post by Thomas Sottile »

I sure most of you have experienced the loss of tools, this happens when I need them the most. Let me explain I am working on a 356 project in the shop and put down a screw driver next minute it is gone I look high and low no screw driver, when all else fails I bring in the big guns MY Wife I know they are afraid of her because as soon as she goes out to the shop the tool is mysteriously returned she will say it is right here I know it was not there a minute ago. any suggestions?

I think it is gremlins. They are all over in my garage as well.

Try looking for something else. That's usually when my missing items show up.

I usually find them out in the horse barn where my wife tells me is where I must have left them the last time I was using them to move bags of feed and throw hay down from the hay loft. Screwdrivers and pliers are the tools I apparently use the most out there.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

I think you have to prove your older than 65 to order them.

Tom, I have the same condition. It's called CRS (can't remember sh..t) and it gets worse as I get older.

lending ones tools is like lending ones wife, once someone else has their hand in the box it becomes a whore for anyone else, and quickly depriciates to something useless. I had a beautiful box of tools in the shop, perfectly organized every tool one could imaging to work on a porsche. Over the years "mechanics" got into it when they did not have a tool of their own, and now my box is just a dirty beaten useless accumulation of broken crap..

Bottom line, do not lend your tools to anyone!!!!!

Not quite sure if it's thieves or the kids but my glasses are usually what go missing. Then finding the screwdriver becomes secondary.

The biggest mistake one can make when laying a tool down is to turn around.........
