Re: Need help with thieves
How about what I've done: walking around looking for something in my hand? Hopefully it was distraction not dementia!

Re: Need help with thieves
What delights my wife the most in the garage is a cleared horizontal surface. I won't be clear for long, however ...

A usual repository for a tool is the engine tray. You here it rattle as your drive off.

None of you guys have your coffee cup stolen from where you swear you put it down? You have more sympathetic thieves than do I!

Re: Need help with thieves
perhaps your patient wife would act as your surgical assistant and hand you the tools and retrieve them as well.
It would probably be easier for her than helping in the search. (my wife would agree)

Re: Need help with thieves
My wife in my garage? Never happen! First of all, she would want to know where all the stuff came from. Second, she knows nothing about tools. Best leave her out of this!!!

...so THAT'S why our Thanksgiving turkey tasted a little like Valvoline this year.....
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

I find that if I blame somebody else for taking the tool... then almost immediately after blaming them I will find it.
