I received my Reutter Certificate of Production today

#1 Post by J Warren »

Hey guys,
I received the Karosserie Reutter Certificate of Production from Erlkonig Classics ( Guido Eickholz). It took about 2 weeks from ordering to receive. It is a very nice kit and confirmed my suspicions about the colors my 57 was delivered in. The Black with Green interior scream 1950's. If you are on the fence about getting one of these, it is very nice. I hope to have it back to original colors soon.

Guido has been ill, and I believe in the hospital. Give him some time, he is a one man show. …………………..Jim.

Thanks for sharing the photo. Did it include any information that wasn't already listed on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) or Kardex? For my car, the colors were already listed on both of those.

Hello Dennis,
Actually it did. My COA listed the interior color/material as information not available. The car had black interior in it when I received it but I kept finding traces of green during disassembly. Since that seems a fairly odd color combo ( black exterior/green interior) I sent off for the Reutter information to confirm my suspicions. I am glad I did. I love the color combo and it actually goes well together. IT also gives you original door, glove box, and ignition lock key numbers

That is great that you were able to get the color data missing from the COA. Did you also get the Kardex? I'm curious how different the Kardex was from Reutter Certificate.

For reference, my Kardex included the Ignition Switch Key Number and Glovebox Key Number. Not the door though.

I know it's turning out that some cars yield more information than others. It seems like some combination of CoA, Kardex, and Reutter Certificate may be required to piece as much as possible together. The most interesting find from my Kardex was the original dealer / importer information. This was not on the CoA.

The reutter certificate shows carpet color, binding, headliner color and the manufacturers, none of that is on the Kardex or the COA. The Kardex shows engine/trans numbers, that is not on the Reutter certificate.

The Reutter booklet is a very nice addition to the Porsche docs for sure.
