Solex PII 40 single shaft carb rebuild service

Folks,

Long version: My replacement big bore engine needs the carbs rebuilt. I’ve been through what can be done including setting floats using the float tool and verifying accelerator pump output. I set all baseline setting for tune and they don’t seem to be up to snuff. After base line the carbs don’t seem to be working well and the shafts are leaking. Lots of popping and can’t idle after warm up. Timing and valves are correct. I need to have them professionally done and CFI indicated that they are only taking shop work and not taking retail work due to backlog. Carb rescue is well respected but also generally runs a slight backlog.

Short version: In need of recommendation for Solex PII 40 carb rebuild. CFI is busy. Is Carb rescue the other option? Those are the only two I’m aware of but, if there is someone else that is as good I should also consider?

Thanks,

I have had very good results with Carb Rescue. Am I wrong or did I hear that they may have some exchange units ready to go??? Maybe I am wrong but ask.

Hi all
Further to this, I have a late pair of late Split Shaft Solex P11 40s with the additional transition holes that I would like to convert to Solid Shafts and also have the bearings upgraded. Sounds like everyone is busy, which is good for them. But who could do this work. I couldn't see anything on the Carb Rescue site, perhaps I'm not looking in the right place!
Cheers Jay

Yeah none on the shelf right now but, good thought.

Edit: they don’t have a pair of my carbs ready.
