Vent Windows
The KARDEX on my 58 Coupe states the car came from the factory with "Swenkfenster"
That would be vent windows on the doors.
Does anyone have pictures of these accessories?
They are no longer with the car.
Thanks, John

Re: Vent Windows
Unless the Doors or Door Frames have been changed, the evidence should be there
The Door required 2 x 6mm holes to be drilled for studs, that held the Bottom Pivot
The Top Pivot was supported by 2 - Holes drilled and tapped into the Top of the Door Frame
In Addition there will also be 4 x M4 tapped holes, also in the door Frame to affix the Plexi. draft excluders that were all part of the kit
You can find these illustrated units in the Jan 58 Parts Manual - Illustration 66B
I addition you can find a picture on the DerWhite website

Re: Vent Windows
Glad to help. Spelling German is actually a lot easier than spelling English; but to be understandable, it's all in the pronouncing.

John,
Using Bobs excellent photograph, the Plexi. Defectors are located in the Top Right Hand Corner, screwed to the outside of the Frame

Re: Vent Windows
The 1958 and 59 Carrera coupes did have vent windows; maybe just the GTs? I suppose you could order them for a standard coupe.
The 1958-59 cabriolets had them standard.

Re: Vent Windows
GT`s only, I think Vic, and they were of the normal `B` Type not the type illustrated above

Re: Vent Windows
Thanks, guys.
The pictures are very helpful
So now I will be looking to see if I can find a pair, a noble quest.

Re: Vent Windows
Yes the 59 GS-GT has vent windows but no window regulator.
I've no idea if the b/c window iteration will fit an earlier car.
Inside handles would not be the same so a mod. would be necessary.

Re: Vent Windows
I think Mr. Wurner's looking for the pivoting window that mounts outside the regular 356A coupe window.Norm Miller wrote:Yes the 59 GS-GT has vent windows but no window regulator.

But, it might be possible to use a T5 coupe window frame and a T2 cabriolet window regulator to produce a mutant T2 coupe with vent windows.
