Location of the rocker decos on a 57A coupe?

#1 Post by James Fitzsimons »

Hi all,

After 8 years my car is finally getting close to paint! I want to test fit all the exterior fittings but during metal work I've lost the mounting holes for the rocker deco strips. I have "Neil's Book" which shows the deco strips end right at the torsion bar covers, but I'm not sure how far up from the bottom of the sills the decos should be. A search of the forum found me a number of people asking the same question but no answers.

Could anyone tell me either the distance from the bottom of the sill to the bottom of the rubber, or even better yet the distance from the bottom of the sill to the center of a mounting hole.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers

James,

I have a 56 Coupe in bare metal and can send you the measurements of the holes
in the rockers.
Give me a day or two to get to the car.

Yes thanks Wayne, Norm's measurements should be all I need. I'll confirm tomorrow when I go to the paint shop to see the car.

Thanks for your offer of assistance though.
