1959 jack mounts?
my 1959 coupe appears to missing the jack mounts from the original rockers?
would it be possible for the car not to have them?
there is no sign of them ever being on the car on either side?
We cut the rockers off but are puzzled why it appears the car never had a trace of them anywhere??

Either:
1) Yours is the only car ever noted lacking the spurs.
Or:
2) Someone got there first and changed the outside of the 'tudes.
I'm voting for #2.

Re: 1959 jack mounts?
You have pictured the rocker but the jack spur goes on the next part inward, called the longitudinal, and the rocker hangs near it without touching it. Probably missing since the previous rust repair a long time ago.

thanks. found the old jackstands in a box.
The rocker appears to not have any indentaton of where the jackstand was located however?

The rocker panels on 1956-65 356s do NOT have an indentation for the jack spur. That was only on the pre-As, 1950-55

Re: 1959 jack mounts?
thank you.
my replacement rocker panel has a "slight" crease in the center area.
Would this be the assumed location for the jack mount on the 59A?

Search Google images for some pictures. The spurs are pretty far to the rear, not coincidently like the car's center of gravity.

Jim, your mockup is reversed, unless you really put the jack spurs below the door hinges.

Re: 1959 jack mounts?
yes.. you are possibly correct.. although .. i did get them correct on the car for sure..
i admit .. i should have taken the measurement.
here are a few more pictures of the car pre restoration.. sorry looking really.. was much better after new sheet metal went in.
