A Registry Brother comes through

#1 Post by Adam Wright »

Many of you have been reading about my paint job being done just in time for the ECH. A bunch of stuff couldn't be finished, one of which was the side mirror. I'm pretty sure the mirror that has been on my car for decades is off a Mercedes. Geoff Fleming has known my car longer than me and when he saw my car at the ECH he mentioned something about how I should change it out for a correct one. It's on the list I thought. 2 days later the correct mirror arrives in the mail, and Geoff said since it came off his Carrera 2 it should make my car faster!
Either way it looks great and it's one of the final pieces. Thanks Geoff!

Geof is an extraordinarily knowledgeable and generous person. But I can't help reflect sending parts to Adam is like sending coals to Newcastle.

Sometimes the mountain has to come to Muhammed. I probably had the right mirror, but I doubt I had one this nice. That's the problem with painting a car, everything else starts looking shabby, a slippery slope...

Jack was one of my first contacts when I became a 356 fan. Very generous with his time and support. Made me feel at home within the 356 community. If I recall correctly, it is 35 years ago that we met, a few years before Gainesville 'gained' another Porsche guy. Certainly miss you up here, Jack.
