Art, or a damn shame

#1 Post by Adam Wright »

I bet I will get people on either side of this debate. But is this art? Or a real shame and should be restored and enjoyed?

This car is at the Museum Technik in Germany.

I was hoping for an explanation for displaying it, but all they gave was a series of barely related sentences.

Both...art stimulates discussion but dang! This car definitely could be restored. The "junkyard" is still there, run by his son. You might have seen crashed, rusty 356 hulks being offered under Porfauto on the Samba and sometimes eBay. They are always staged in front of a rack full of 356's.

I used to buy parts from his dad when I had my '58 coupe.

I was there a few years ago and never saw the Porsche. It is a great museum with a lot of old cars, motorcycles, bicycles and airplanes. They have a Concorde and lots of military vehicles and weapons. A lot of old airplanes can be viewed inside of them. This museum is a must see for its variety. https://sinsheim.technik-museum.de/en/
After that visit I stumbled on a restoration shop called Boxer Motor GMBH. (boxermotor.de) It was a first class shop specializing in 356 and early 911's.

If you go to Long Beach City College, you can put any hubcaps on it that you wish!
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

Jim & Mike,
Maybe the owner traded his rear bumper guards for the 59 super hubcaps.
Note the front ones didn't do much good anyway.
