Factory appreciation trophy

#1 Post by Max Handley »

I’ve noticed a remarkable similarity of the silver car used in a factory appreciation trophy and the one in my possession created by the artist R fogle in 1976.Mine iis sterling silver and would polish out to look exactly like the factory trophy model.

Can anyone verify this suspicion. Here are the 2 examples.

I have the factory trophy. Have never taken the model off but it looks like a refined and plated version of the period Marklin model. Would not surprise me if they made it

Thanks Joris. The similarities are striking. My example is signed on the bottom plate ,when removed you can see the artists initials (RF)under the front hood. . The bottom is fully signed and dated . I believe mine is a lost wax piece .
