I have to start somewhere ;-) This one has just been released. Made by the same company who did the 911 engine model which was discussed here last year. Makes for a perfect Christmas gift

Joris, is that a roller crank or flat crank? Numbers matching?

Yup, they say they have 100 in stock, but I guess it's 98 now, because I just ordered 2!

Perhaps I'm being picky, but the box illustration shows a Carrera exhaust with Spyder-mounted distributors, an arrangement that isn't correct for either car.

It's a 547 engine, cam driver distributors

Yes John, but they were mounted towards the rear in a Carrera.

Hi Jon,

The model actually has several mistakes/particulars I have not assembled it but some things I noted while going through the parts:

- Gears are straight cut and not gleason spiral bevel
- later style (C2) generator stand
- Exhaust, as pointed out by you. The kit also comes with a pea shooter but one for a street car and not a mid engined car
- Later style heads, in their defense from 62/63 onwards these were the only ones available and were also used on the Elva's and late Spyders
- Early spyder would have had 4-bolts are DCM carbs

I am sure I will find more. At the same time it has many cool features such as actual drag levers, a build up crank with one piece rods just like the Hirths etc. Hope to get started this weekend and will report back
