Why are Rudge knock off wheels called 'Rudge knock off wheels'? Every one i have ever seen was made by Kronprinz.

Re: Rudge question
I always thought KPZ did the adaption to Porsche, since Rudge made wheels for lots of sports cars like Mercedes, Lotus, etc. I always assumed KPZ was contracted since they were the Factory's go-to for anything exotic like Steel/Alloy or the like.Jules Dielen wrote:Why are Rudge knock off wheels called 'Rudge knock off wheels'? Re: Rudge question
Both KPZ and Borrani use the Rudge patent under license. KPZ (Kronprinz) was back In the Day for Porsche and Mercedes and Borrani still uses it today along with various British wheel guys.
