Re: valve cover gaskets
There are new Silicon Valve Cover Gaskets that are just entering the market. I tried a couple of pair and they seem great.
No leaks and easy to install. Reusable.

Dunno about the new ones, since Vic's product is so good, I've never had to replace them: http://356enterprises.com/engine-rebuil ... rsche-356/

Re: valve cover gaskets
Vic's gaskets are the best. You can buy the most expensive gasket set (not Reinz) for a 356 engine and it will still include flaccid cork gaskets. Have quite few customers using Vic's gaskets that have been reused for more than 10 years with no leaks. I have no interest in trying silicone gaskets with this application. I'll keep using what works as long as I can still source them.
Pic attached:
Vic's steel core gasket is on the top. Bottom is the common gasket that usually leaks unless you glue it to the valve cover.
