Ingram Collection America Roadster at Pebble Beach Concours

Bob, Jeanie and Cam Ingram showed their beautiful Fire Red 1952 America Roadster this past Sunday at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. For the second straight year, Bob Ingram had the only Porsche car on the grass at the 18th hole of the famous Pebble Beach golf links. Last year, his 1952 Fashion Grey Cabriolet took home 1st in Class honors at this show. This year they competed in the very tough Post-War Sports Car Class. Cam and Kevin Watts’ team at Road Scholars did a complete restoration of the car over the past nine months to get it ready for the show. Cam told me that nearly everything on the car is original and it is the only car that the Porsche factory ever painted in the very pure color of Fire Red. Back in the day, the car had considerable racing history: it was driven by Josie Von Neumann at the Pebble Beach Road Races in the mid-1950s.
