Ahh, I see now. The shoulder strap just runs over the seat back and anchors to the side of the rear wheel well. No worries about the headliner. Many thanks!

Thanks David. I've read through several threads and am still a little unclear about exactly where the shoulder strap bracket attaches, what Andover calls a "DPE Bracket" in the attached photo, upper left example. I assume it's bolted to the B post but not much room there. Relative to the subject of this thread, the hole would then need to be drilled before headliner install. Do you have a photo? Thanks.

I don't think you said what car you have.
I have 2 C coupes, and these have a factory mounting point for the shoulder belt just beneath the rear quarter window.
This is where the retractor attaches.

I don't believe the B pillar is strong enough to work in a crash with a device for the shoulder belt mounted there, although John Willhoit has used this spot on some of his cars in Long Beach, CA.
I'm using the Andover Restraints belts in my 64 C coupe, and I had already bought more expensive ones from PEP for the 65C. But belts from both suppliers work well.

When replacing the "horsehair" material on the roof, what are others using? Last time I used 1/2" padding that I got from a carpeting store. Light and glued up there just fine. Actually, I used more of it to replace the padding on the floor. The original stuff seems to hold moisture. Even if it doesn't it's filthy, dusty, stuff with no strength left in it- at least that's what I have always come across.

It must be possible to match this to a US equivalent.

Aerosol adhesives have their place, but don’t have the strength, don’t stand the heat and don’t last.
