Tach cable drive availability?

#1 Post by Robert Reed »

Hey Guys ,
My tach had not been working after a 20+ year hiatus, I hooked my drill onto it this morning to see if the front was still connected to the rear. It wasn’t.
Are there any places that sell just the inner cable out there?
Thank y’all
Bob

Thank you, Doug! Once again you come through with the answer.
I looked on their site but didn’t have the proper term for the part, I guess.
Much appreciate your presence on this site.

Stoddard web site is sort of like this one. Not always easy to find what you want. I frequently just call Stoddard and speak with Maurice in parts.

Hi Bob,
If your tach has not been working for 20 years I highly recommend you send the unit to either Palo Alto or North Hollywood for a check up/rebuild. If it spun freely when you hooked it up I would still have it checked. The tach cable on my coupe broke some time back, I bought a replacement cable, and it broke instantly. I had NH refurbish the tach, got another cable, and 2 years on everything is fine. Just something to keep in mind and as always, Good Luck!!

This is also the case with mine! Good advice!
