I do not remember ever seeing that dimension listed anywhere but as all the flywheels use the same gland nut including millions of VW's I have to say without going out to the garage to measure one that it is just big enough for the gland nut to pass through with very little clearance. As the dowel pins locate the flywheel and the gland nut is there to clamp it to the flywheel I would say that 10 to 20 thou clearance would sound reasonable to me. If you really need to know the exact dimension I can measure one later but now it is dinner time.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

There is a slight difference w/the VW gland nut (I still call it a flywheel bolt, or gland bolt) vs, Porsche's.

I just measured a few and a new Stoddard replacement. They are all 27.9 mm on my set of calipers.
