Steve Douglas compiled a list for bay area awhile ago that can be found in this link: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=46291&hilit=bay+area+mechanic At least one Dave Merz in Santa Rosa isn't far from you. And another in Novato who gets a++ shout out in the link.

Be careful with Hi-tec automotive in San Rafael. You have to double-check everything they touch.

Hi Bruce,
I suggest you talk with Billy McNair of European Performance in Bel Marin keys, Novato.
He's my mechanic and is VERY well versed in 356's and other P-cars too.
BTW, I'm in Novato.
Tell Billy I sent you.
