Electric gremlin

#1 Post by Chris Duerr »

Perhaps one of the faithful readers may have encountered this issue. Ifin my headlights are turned on and my turn signal is employed the red generator light on my combination guage flashes. Might anybody have a sense as to where to begin hunting for the culprit? Does not happen when just the running lights are illuminated. Thanks for tips.

Bad ground. Ground all of the gauges correctly.

Look at the two big copper straps, one on the battery and the other on the transmiccion also. You have two flotation grounds, one for the headlights, one for the generator.

It could also be the hood for the generator light bulb inside the gauge. If the hood is distorted at the bottom, light from the turn signal bulbs can bleed through.
