Today at the 2018 Porsche Parade at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri a strong field of twelve 356s were presented on the Concours show field. It was a swelteringly hot day but the 356s attracted more than their fair share of attention amongst a large field of mostly water cooled Porsche vehicles, including some almost new 2018 models. Somehow putting a nearly new car in a Concours seems a bit incongruous to fans of older cars, but as they say, “different strokes for different folks.”

This 1951 Pre-A Coupe was presented by yours truly, Chip Perry, along with Pat and Lillian Collins of the Peachstate Region of PCA. The Adria Blue Metallic car was restored for renowned Volkswagen collector Dr. Mac Jones of Jackson, TN, by Lee and Neil Schlabaugh of Stalltek Restorations at their shop in Wellman, Iowa. Lee and Neil helped me present the car to the judges today at the Parade. As rookies at a PCA Full Concours we were excited to receive a second-in-class trophy and a score of 299 points, which qualified the car for a Gmund Award.

That’s it - photos of the twelve 356s that graced the show field today at the 2018 Porsche Parade, all of them proudly representing the roots of the Marque. Hope you enjoyed the tour!
