Scam Alert

#1 Post by Peter Silten »

The following ad for a 59 convertible is a scam:

https://porsche356registry.org/classifieds/21565

The seller just joined the Registry today.

Here is the same car for sale on Autotrader for sale for $125,000.

And here it is on eBay for 125k or best offer:

https://classics.autotrader.com/classic ... /100996683

And here it is on Pelican, also for 125k:

I called the owner and told him that his car was listed on the Registry. He confirmed that it was a scam. I told him that I would alert the Registry and ask that the ad be removed.

crazy. a scammer taking on the name of the real seller and then offering it here. That takes balls.

The classifieds seem to be getting a little out of control with scammers. A good protection I have seen on other forums is you can't place a classified ad until you have at least 10 postings. This weeds out most of the scammers since it actually takes work, scammers don't like to work, other than to steal pictures and money.

Yep that is my car a scammer posted it for $59000 or something, my car is for sale on ebay and autotrader for $125000, I have since lowered the price, its gotta go! 916 996-9008 the scammer had a 916 number too that went straight to voicemail, the "text mail subscriber" is a sure sign of a scammer
