Kardex Mysterie

#1 Post by Adam Wright »

Hey everyone, here is a new one, at least for me.

Alu-Lochscheibenrader

I know Lochscheibenrader is wheel, but alu would be aluminum?

That's what I thought, but it's a 68 912, so I'm also being told that since FUCHs were an option on the 912 they were listed this way on the Kardex, rather than the later way of calling them Alufelge.

Alu-Lochscheibenrad translates to "aluminum wheel with holes". The German does not specify the shape of the hole.

Scheibenrad = wheel
Lochscheibenrad = wheel with holes

Many cars with optional fuchs wheels had this wording on their option list. Fuchs translates to Fox, hence the fox head.

Adam
I have all the factory paperwork from my uncles early 67 912 targa but not the Kardex. In a check list the factory used the following for the Fuchs. Similar but not identical but yours clearly indicates Fuchs.
